"What a great environment. We were there on First Monday and of course what a great experience. You need to make sure you stay for 3 or 4 days. This is an ideal central location to see the best of what East Texas has to offer. There is so much to see and of course to buy. You will find so many little shops and local vendors. And that’s before you actually go into the swap meet itself. First Monday is a staple in East Texas, a swap meet to remember. And within 20 miles there are the cities of Athens and Tyler. Both are full of restaurants and history. Tyler is known for the rose festival and the azalea trail. Athens besides being a beautiful little town is known for the day when Barnum & Bailey went through the town and The smallest man (Tom Thumb) married the shortest woman at the courthouse. Obviously I enjoyed my stay and will go back again. Thanks for letting me share."
